NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY

Gallaudet University: founded in 1864, by an Act of Congress charter signed by Abraham Lincoln. Only 4-year liberal arts college for the hearing impaired in the world with a bilingual, diverse and multicultural institution that is taught strictly through American Sign Language and English. We awarded the Delta Zeta Scholarship Fund and the Fine Arts Endowment Funds as well.
Starkey Hearing Foundation: "I don't believe in disabilities, I believe in abilities." -Bill Austin, founder. The main mission for the Starkey Foundation is the change social awareness of hearing through education and research. Iota Xi supports this foundation with our Build-a-Bear service.
House Research Institute: Founded in 1946 by Howard P. House, M.D, as a non profit hearing research/educational service. This institution improves the quality of life for patients with hearing loss with scientific research & patient care. Delta Zeta provides funds for research/clinical services for the Children's Auditory & Research Center.
The Painted Turtle Camp: A year round camp in which children with chronic & life threatening illnesses go and enjoy life. Supports all medical needs, pushes children to live fully, and provides education for the whole family.
St. Joesph's Institute for Hearing Impaired: Serves children with hearing loss, preschool to the eight grade, with an auditory-oral education. Includes academics along with an intensive language curriculum and individualized speech therapy.
